Kincaple is within a 2 mile radius of the medieval city of St Andrews, home of golf and Scotland's oldest university. Our cottages have been recently refurbished to high specifications from the 17thC stables buildings of the original Kincaple House, and lie in secluded, wooded grounds away from the bustle of the town. Yet, at a five minute drive, we're within remarkably easy reach of the legendary Old Course, along with the beaches, castle and cathedral ruins and the shops, bars and restaurants of St Andrews. Edinburgh is a day trip (an hour on the train from nearby Leuchars, or 1.25 hours in the car), Glasgow isn't much further, and we are also within easy reach of the Angus Glens, the Cairngorms, Perth and the gateway to the Highlands, the Coastal Paths of the East Neuk of Fife and its picturesque fishing villages.

The Details


Directions from Edinburgh Intl airport:


Take the Forth Bridge North of Edinburgh (signed A90/M8 and M9)


Then follow M90 exit 8 (signed St Andrews) and follow the A91. This road takes you all the way through Gateside, Auchtermuchty, Cupar and Dairsie and then Guardbridge: at Guardbridge go straight over the small roundabout and the bridge then take 1st right up towards Strathkinness. Half a mile up the hill you'll find a LH turning to Kincaple: take this into the village. Drive through the village (hamlet) for 500 yards max until you see a sign for 'Woodland Holidays' - to come and pick up your keys please take a right here. Stay RIGHT on the driveway: please don't take the left fork, which takes you into Woodland Holidays chalets or our neighbours at Kincaple House, which is a private residence. We'll show you how to drive round to the cottages once you have registered.
